Bungou Stray Dogs New Season

On Jan. 4, Bungou Stray Dogs season four began to air after four years of many fans waiting. Originally beginning as a manga by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa on Dec. 2012, the story had made a name for itself after being animated by Studio Bones.
This series is based on real life authors, most of them being Japanese. These characters follow novels and poems written by the actual authors and the written works often have something to do with the character’s traits.

The story follows the protagonist, Atsushi Nakajima, as he gets kicked out of several orphanages and somehow finds his way into a detective agency with special abilities. With the help of his coworkers, he takes on several other organizations, such as the Port Mafia and the Guild, but in the most recent season the main antagonist group is the Decay of Angels.

The season began following one of the detective agency members, Ranpo Edogawa’s backstory, which eventually led into the current storyline. Many fans did not expect the first part of the season to be animated, as it was one of many light novels that Asagiri wrote.

New characters from the manga have also been introduced in the new season, such as the Hunting Dogs and Sigma, the owner of a sky casino and a member of the Decay of Angels. Another character that fans are excited about is Nikolai Gogol, who is also a member of the Decay of Angels.

A new episode airs every Wednesday and is still currently airing. It is speculated by fans that the new season will come out right after this season finishes, as it was with season two and three.

The new season is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
