Aliso Niguel High School has been closing out its spring sports seasons, with unique takeaways and ambitions to finish strong. All of the Girls’ sports, including Beach Volleyball, Lacrosse, Softball, Swim and Track and Field, have had incredible success this season.
Girls’ Beach Volleyball:
Girls’ Beach Volleyball finished their season with an overall record of 11-6, winning league with a final record of 5-1. After winning the league, the Varsity team advanced to CIF, where they lost in the first round to San Clemente with a final score of 1-4. JV went undefeated in their league matches, making the Wolverines league champions. The Wolverines had a dominant season, having swept victories against schools such as El Toro, Mission Viejo and Yorba Linda. Their ranking in California’s CIF Southern Section is 24, out of over 150 teams.
Girls’ Lacrosse:
Girls’ Lacrosse finished their season with an overall record of 5-12, with a 1-7 record in league play. The team failed to advance to CIF while competing in the Division III level. They went against challenging teams such as San Clemente and San Juan Hills in their league games. Coach Honda says, “My favorite part of coaching this team was watching the players grow… This group brought great energy and made coaching a lot of fun.” Coach Honda hopes “the sport of lacrosse [will] keep growing and create great experiences for players and girls in the future.”
Girls’ Softball:
Softball at Aliso Niguel High School finished off their season with an overall record of 16-10-2, with a 6-0 record in league play, resulting in them being league champions. This season was challenging as the team competed against strong programs in their league. Senior Tessa Cowsil says, “I think our team’s biggest takeaway this season is that we need to play as a family and everyone, no matter what their role is, is important. When we play as a family, we win because nothing can beat the pure love that we all have for each other!”
Girls’ Swim
The Aliso Niguel Girls’ Swim team finished second overall in league, with a total of 464 points. Competing in the CIF Southern Section, the Wolverines have shown improvement across varsity, junior varsity and frosh-soph levels. They achieved an undefeated score across three recent meets. The girls’ team, which finished fourth in league last season, is pushing for a higher placement and CIF qualification. Avery Morris (10) said, “Everyone pushes each other to improve, and you can really see it in our times dropping each meet.” Aliso Niguel swim continues to grow as one of the school’s most competitive programs.
Girls’ Track
Track at Aliso Niguel High School finished out their season competing in multiple league meets and invitationals, with a season record of 5-1. This season was competitive as the team faced strong programs such as San Clemente High School and San Juan Hills High School. The team competed in major invitationals, gaining valuable experience against top competition. Junior Abby Hwang says, “This season really showed how much we can push ourselves individually while still supporting each other as a team. Everyone stepped up and made us stronger overall.”
The girls’ sports at Aliso Niguel High School all concluded their seasons in late April and early May. Many teams faced new difficulties, which they had to improve on throughout their season. The 2026 girls’ spring sports seasons at Aliso Niguel were essential for the teams to continue developing in the upcoming years. Some notable achievements this year in the girls’ spring sports were Track and Field school records, in the shot put, discus and relays, along with the Girls’ Beach Volleyball and Softball league titles.
