The Aliso Niguel Boys Golf Team is officially half way through their 2026-2027 spring season and have been performing very well throughout all of their matches. Although the team has been performing well, the Wolverines have an unfortunate record of three wins and five losses, while their league record is two wins and four losses.
Their latest matches have been Mission Viejo and Dana Hills High School, where Aliso Niguel unfortunately lost against the Mission Viejo Diablos in an unfavorable score of 212-210, a very close score that came down to the final tees of the game.
Against Dana Hills, the Wolverines played two times in a row, winning one match and losing the other. The scores for these games were 201-193, favoring the Dana Hills Dolphins, and the other match was 204-190, favoring the Aliso Niguel Wolverines.
With these wins and losses, and the season record for the Wolverines being 2-4, Aliso Niguel is currently third place in the Sea View League, with many more games to come to bring up their ranking.
Their upcoming matches are going to be against Capistrano Valley and El Toro. Both of these matches are not league matches and will not go towards their league record, but will go towards their full season record.
Varsity Team Golfer, Jonah Hiner (10), comments, “Although we have had some unfortunate losses this season, we still have around a little less than 10 games and an upcoming tournament so hopefully the team can do well in these matches which can maybe be able to help us do better for these upcoming games and especially in league where it matters a lot more.”
As the season progresses, the Aliso Niguel boys golf team is still having practice everyday to keep preparing for these upcoming tournaments and matches which can be used as a morale boost for the team, helping them perform better than they already were.
Both of the upcoming matches against Capistrano Valley and El Toro will be great challenges for the Wolverines, as both of these teams are a part of the CIF Southern Section’s Division II: only one division below Aliso Niguel. As a result, both of these matches will serve for the Wolverines to prepare for the rest of the upcoming season; if they qualify for CIF, then they will definitely be ready for it throughout the rest of their matches.
Varsity Golfer JJ Coachman (10) states, “I am excited for the rest of the games we have this season, because I think we can do very well against these teams, because most of these matches we are going to play are against schools who are in a lower division, and throughout our practices the team is looking strong and ready to go win more and more games throughout the rest of the season.”
At the end of the day, Aliso Niguel has been a very strong and complete team through the first half of the season; they will without a doubt be able to do even better through the second half of the season, in league and outside of league.
