The Aliso Niguel Boys Baseball Team swings into a brand new thrilling and competitive season with lots to come. They officially started their 2026-2027 campaign with lots of different and strong opponents.
The Wolverines have started their season with an amazing record of 5 wins 0 losses and 1 tie. Their opening game happened on Feb. 26, against La Habra, where Aliso Niguel ended up winning with a score of 6 to 2.
That was only one memorable win; they ended up winning 5 more games against Millikan, San Juan Hills, Irvine and Citrus Valley. Their only tie so far during this season happened against El Toro where the game ended in a score of 3 to 3.
With these wins and no losses, the Aliso Niguel Boys Baseball team has been ranked as no. 44 in the state. Being a part of the South Coast League, that places Aliso Niguel in being a Division II team. The other two teams in this league are San Clemente and Dana Hills, both being huge rivals of Aliso Niguel.
The roles between many upperclassmen are able to show roles of leadership towards the underclassmen who have to step up and fill in important roles on and off the field as they grow and develop their skills behind seniors who have been on the team for many seasons meaning they have a lot of experience to share to the underclassmen on the team.
Varsity Catcher Colt Jackson (10) shares, “It’s great to know the different experiences that the seniors had to go through and their able to use those experiences to help guide us and help us do better during the game and whatever they tell all of us is definitely going to stick with me the next two years that I am going to be on this team.”
Head Coach Craig Hanson, who has been coaching the team for many years, has implemented a great system throughout his players. The team has been practicing this same system for many years so many players who have been on this team for multiple seasons are used to this type of play style.
The Aliso Niguel Boys Baseball team has upcoming games to move into the season. The team’s upcoming games are Fullerton, Servite and Murrieta Valley where the Wolverines end up playing two times. All of these teams all have very good programs and a very strong and experienced team making it hard for the Wolverines, but it will overall serve as a great challenge towards the team.
Varsity Player Hudson Covington (10), comments, “I’m looking forward to this season already, throughout the first four games the entire team has been playing really well and I can’t wait to see how we end up doing towards the end of the season.”
As Aliso Niguel’s Boys Baseball team have only just started their season, they are on a great pace to have another amazing season to put into the program’s history. The dedication and hard work coming from the players and coaching staff this upcoming season looks very promising as the baseball team is ready to hopefully secure another league title for the team at the end of the season.
