The Aliso Niguel Boys Basketball team had a blazing start to their season on Nov. 18.
The boys started so far have a 14-8 record, 3 straight wins in the league with six games left. They will be playing against El Toro on Jan. 21, Mission Viejo on the 23, Dos Pueblos the 24, Beckman 26, Trabuco on the 28 and lastly El Toro again on Feb. 2.
At the start of their season they had two losses against Etiwanda and Ayala but bounced right back with three wins against Diamond bar, Lakewood and Foothill. Immediately after they had another two losses against Cypress and Torrance.
The boys then went on a 5 game win streak against Northwood 70-44, St. Bonaventure 68-25, Portola 73-55, Bosco Tech, 76-43 and Irvine 47-33.
Evan Joseph (12) says, “Our team’s off to a solid start this season, some games could have gone smoother but we’re playing well and looking forward to league and making a push towards CIF”.
On Dec. 16 Aliso Played Tesoro losing 63-57 then won against Laguna Beach and San Clemente, 88-56 and 77-74 respectively. Following the two wins they had two losses against Birmingham 62-54 and Liberty with 59-53.
Their last two games of 2025 was one win against Tennyson 77-34 blowing them out of the water and a loss to Camarillo 74-59.
Jayden Mysin (12) comments, “We are learning to be there for each other through the highs and lows so far in our season”.
So far for 2025 the boys have played 19 games winning 11 of them and losing just 8.
Starting the new year off right the boys played against Mission Viejo in their first Sea View League game.
Mission Viejo led by nine in the second half and one entering quarter 4. After an intense back and forth game Aliso beat Mission 65-56.
The star player for Aliso was Wyatt Richmond (11) who scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds. Mysin also had 18 points and following was Jay Keys (12) with 14.
Their second win in the league was against Beckman with a very tight game winning 39-37. Key players were Mysin, Keys and Tjin.
Their most recent game was against Trabuco, another close win 45-41. Many outstanding players in the game work synonymously. This brings their record to 3-0 in the Sea View League placing them first in front of Beckman and El Toro.
The Boys have 5 more games in Jan. against El Toro on the 21, Mission 23, Dos Pueblos 24, Beckman 26 and Trabuco HIlls on the 28.
Their very last game of the Season is against El Toro again which should be an easy win to finish off the 2025-2026 season.
The boys are currently ranked number 191 in California, 90 in the Southern Section and ranked 87 in the Los Angeles Metro Area.
As stated by Joseph the boys will continue to push and finish the season strong in hopes of winning the league against Beckman and El Toro.
