Last week, Aliso Niguel faced Millikan in their CIF playoff match, and the energy in the stadium was electric. The bleachers were filled with students, fans and parents, all showing up to support the Wolverines.
Millikan entered the stadium as a tough opponent against Aliso. From the kickoff, it was clear to everyone that it would be a tough game. Every yard was a battle.
Despite the back-and-forth pace, the Wolverines kept their calm and kept pushing, resulting in a win. Kaleo Elam (12) scored a touchdown, resulting in 6 points, and Asher Youderian (11) secured one more from a kick, solidifying the win for Aliso. That one-point difference turned out to be the game-changing point.
The Wolverines’ defense deserves major recognition for not folding under pressure. With Millikan coming close to Aliso territory multiple times, the defense refused to give in and kept coming with tackles. Players like Corey Lewis (12) and Cash Jackson (11) each made over five tackles, helping Aliso secure the win.
The Den played a huge role in keeping the team more up. From the kickoff to the final second on the clock, students showed their support. Every play was seen with cheers from all across the field.
With this win, Aliso Niguel advanced to its next game against La Serna for the next round of the CIF playoffs on Nov. 14. The Wolverines have continued to show how they can perform under pressure.
