The Aliso Niguel Boys Lacrosse team is looking to embark on another great season, after having a successful previous season. The team is full of high expectations, with the team being full of seniors this season.
The main goal for this year’s team is to win the league, as well as win CIF. The Wolverines last accomplished this great feat two years ago, when the seniors this upcoming season were sophomores.
The Wolverines are still led by Coach Zach Henderson this season, who is experienced and looking forward to the upcoming season with the Wolverines.
Senior Irving Pincus is projected to start in goal for the Wolverines, as well as Liam Frazier (12) being expected to carry the Wolverines on his shoulders this season, as he comes in with lots of experience as well.
Aliso Niguel will play in the Sea View League this season, competing against four other members. This includes Mission Viejo High School, San Clemente High School, Tesoro High School and Trabuco Hills High School.
The Wolverine boys are set to play their first non-league lacrosse game on Feb. 13, against the San Juan Hills Stallions. They will also play against other high schools such as Huntington Beach High School and Beckman High School.
In the previous season, the Aliso Boys Lacrosse team had a very good preseason, winning their game against Huntington Beach High School with a score of 6-5 as well as Servite High School 8-5.
The Wolverines are looking to get back at Trabuco Hills this season due to their tied match last season and loss in overtime. This will be a pivotal game for the Wolverines, as the Mustangs are in their league this year.
Last year, Aliso ended up losing to Jserra in CIF, ultimately ending their season. They hope to recover this season and end up taking home the CIF title.
“I’m looking forward to improving as a team so we can win the league and bring home a CIF title,” says Frazier.
Not only are the Aliso Niguel boys looking forward to working hard on and off the field, but to have fun with their teammates. It is the last season for the seniors, and many of them have played with each other since they were very young. They will look forward to making the most of their time with each other as they do not have long left.
One of Senior Rami Dakak’s favorite traditions is to, “Go to In-n-out with my teammates and make lots of memories.”
The Wolverines have been training very hard throughout the summer, fall and winter in order to prepare for the spring season. They have gone through many on-field weight room practices, sacrificing their time and effort to have a good and memorable season this year. With the right coaching and full health, the Wolverines are prepared to go far this season.
