“Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, was released in theaters on March 20, 2026. This movie is the sequel to the popular movie “Ready or Not,” which was released in 2019.
This movie follows the main character, Grace Le Domas, played by Samara Weaving, as she attempts to survive yet another deadly game, but this time she has the help of her sister Faith MacCaullay, played by Kathryn Newton, this time with four rival families for one powerful seat.
Going into this movie, I feared it would be solely based on horror, but it turns out it had a nice touch of comedy in the mix, which balanced out the movie very well. This story was focused on scenes of suspense gore and comedic relief.
After watching “Ready or Not 2,” Sofia Gonzalez (9) says, “My favorite scene was when they started playing ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart,’ and they were in the ballroom area.”
The movie is filled with many scenes of suspense that have you on the edge of your seat, wondering what she will do in the situation and how she will make it out alive. The cast made the movie such an immersive experience, making the scenes feel very real.
Kylie DiCorpo (10) has only seen the first movie and looks forward to seeing the second one, saying, “I do think they might be dragging the story because the first one was pretty good and it could have been a telling story. But the second one, I don’t know, but it is exciting.”
Students who have yet to familiarize themselves with the movie are ready to immerse themselves in a truly terrifying situation, which sends chills down their spines simply thinking about this scenario.
The movie follows a curse present in the first movie, called Mr. Le Bail, who has formed a sort of demonic pact with the Le Domas family, with scenes of rituals and chants.
Gonzalez says, “I personally would not recommend this movie to other students because they did rituals and stuff like that.”
Through the horrific journey that Faith and Grace go through, their relationship as sisters grows as they clear up the mistakes and arguments they had in the past. The movie is not just a thriller of demons and gore; it showcases the importance of family bonds and how essential forgiveness is in modern-day relationships.
The movie remained entertaining throughout the whole showing because of the layout of the movie, how they sprinkled around different shocking scenes to add depth to the characters.
This movie exceeded all the expectations and doubts I had about this film, as I frequently refuse to watch any kind of horror movie.
While “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” included a few questionable concepts for some people it was a very well constructed movie which had a well throughout plot all the war through which made the movie a constant suspense.
