On Jan. 22 Beyoncé held a private concert in Dubai celebrating the Atlantis Royal hotel. At this concert attendees were asked not to record any of her performance. They were even given designated pouches for their phones. 

Of course, not everyone obeyed this request. This invite only concert was part of the grand opening of the Atlantis Royal hotel. It also featured an Ivy Park fashion lounge by the pool. The event held plenty of celebrities including Kendall Jenner and Jay-Z. 

This was Beyonce’s first concert in four years, and based on videos and fan reactions, many are considering it one of her greatest. The show took place outdoors above and in front of a beautiful fountain. It included a 48 person all female orchestra, and the Mayyas, a female dance troupe. The show included fireworks and a stunt where Beyoncé was lifted 16 feet in the air. She had three separate costume changes featuring designs by Dolce & Gabbana, Atelier Zuhra a fashion designer from Dubai, Nicolas Jebran, and KJ Moody. 

Beyoncé performed “Drunk in Love”, “Naughty Girl”, “Crazy in Love”, “Brown Skin Girl”which she sang with some help from her daughter Blue Ivy, and many many more. However she reportedly did not perform any songs from her new album, RENAISSANCE. Celebrities around the world also observed the concert from leaked footage and live streams. Lizzo admitted to watching one of these and tweeted, “I watched the entire thing on IG live across a body of water of a hotel and I’m not ashamed.”
