Summer Concerts

2022 has been a year of new music and comebacks for a lot of popular artists. Many are performing their albums from 2021, which they couldn’t previously do because of the pandemic. Others have recently released new music, and followed it with a summer tour.

One of the more popular tours was Harry Styles’ “Love on Tour.” Since the disbanding of One Direction, Harry Styles has become a popular independent artist. Many were excited for his tour because of his new album “Harry’s house,” which was his first album since “Fine Line” in 2019.

Mitski, another big artist, went on tour for her latest album “Laurel Hell,” which was also her first album since “Be The Cowboy” in 2018. “Laurel Hell” tour began in February with U.S. shows, and toured over the summer in the U.K. and Europe.

Following the drop of “Happier Than Ever” last summer, Billie Eillish began her world tour in February and continued through the summer in Europe. In total, Eillish will have performed 21 summer shows.

Music festivals were also very popular this year. “Viva! LA Music Festival” showed in June, featuring artists such as Cuco and the Marías.

“Pitchfork Music Festival” in Chicago took place in July, and featured indie pop artists such as Mitski, Lucy Dacus, and Japanese Breakfast.

“Rolling Loud Miami” was also in July and featured Ye, Future, and Kendrick Lamar.

“Outside Lands” took place from Aug. 5-7 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco featuring Weezer, SZA, and Lil Uzi Vert.

This summer has been filled with tours and festivals that made the past few months an important time for music.
