The year 2022 has only gotten brighter as the music and arts festival, Coachella, has recently announced its lineup for the upcoming event. Founded in 1999 by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen, Coachella is one of the most famous annual music festivals in the United States.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic restricted the event for the past two years, the concerts are all set to return this April and tickets are already sold out. The festival is scheduled over two weekends, April 15-17 and April 22-24. 

This year’s event will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The featured bands and artists are set to perform on their designated day for both weekends.  

This year’s headliners for the event are Harry Styles for the Friday festival, Billie Eilish on Saturday night, and finally Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, on Sunday. 

Along with the Pop Star Harry Styles, Friday’s lineup includes well known artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, City Girls, Big Sean, Lil Baby, Daniel Cessear and several others. 

Continuing the excitement, Billie Eilish headlines Saturday night along with Megan Thee Stallion, Discloser, 21 Savage, girl in red, Wallows, Conan Gray, Flume, and more incredible musicians. The artists themselves have taken to social media to share in the excitement, Megan Thee Stallion tweeting “Hotties are you ready for @coachella??!!”

The final night starring Ye consists of other stars like Doja Cat, Karol G, Jamie xx, Måneskin, FINNEAS, Surf Curse, Kim Petras, Olivia O’Brien and more. 

Despite life returning to somewhat normal, pre-pandemic conditions, COVID-19 is still a prevalent concern. Coachella’s website states that in order to attend the event, attendees must provide a negative Covid test within 72 hours of their concert date or proof of full vaccination. Additionally, face coverings will be required for all in attendance.

Only about three months away, expect incredible things from this year’s showcase and its stellar lineup!
