In recent days, there have been a lot of music festivals up;on us like Lollapalooza, Coachella and Rolling Loud. These festivals have become more than just concerts but major cultural events. People from all over the world gear up their festive outfits and are taken to one of the most exciting and biggest trends in all entertainment today.
These festivals take place in so many different and eventful places. Lollapalooza is not just in Chicago anymore but in São Paulo, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Paris and Berlin. Coachella is taking place in the Empire Polo Club in Indio in a desert with aesthetic vibes that celebrities and influencers love to enjoy.
Rolling Loud is most popular in Miami and Los Angeles, sometimes internationally. Rolling Loud focuses mainly on hip-hop and rap artists, while Lollapalooza features mixed genres like pop, hip-hop, rock and EDM making it enjoyable for everyone.
The 2026 Lollapalooza lineup featured some major artists like Tate McRae, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, The Smashing Pumpkins and 170 more artists.
Siena Lassegard (12) said, “I was so excited when I heard that one of my favorite artists Sabrina Carpenter is in the lineup, seeing her in concert was a truly amazing sight to see!”
However, while online these festivals seem perfect, the reality can be quite different and somewhat scary. The large crowds, long lines and extreme high prices are all concerns but they are part of experiencing this crazy festival.
Safety can be concerning with so many people in the crowds but festivals have extremely careful security with crowd control, and emergency planning where all employees each have individual emergency training.
Music festivals continue to become more popular especially with social media influencers posting and promoting the artists as well as many designers as outfits are a huge aspect for these types of festivals. Many influencers get lots of followers based on what they wear and the creativity each music artist brings out for their show.
Abigail Lee (12) shared,” I especially love all the outfits that correlate to the singer. I know my favorite band that is playing is going to rock out with their festive wear as are all the fans including myself.”
These festivals are so widely loved nationally that Lollapalooza decided to take an extra step this year into becoming international, going to so many foreign countries where everyone can enjoy!
Usually Lollapalooza is held in Grand Park Chicago where around 400,000 people join together every year to enjoy new singers of every genre and even the oldies that everyone loves!
These festivals represent more than just global entertainment but a way for people to come together from all over the world to enjoy music and social cultural experiences that truly change the perspective of living in this generation. Whether people go for the aesthetic vibe or the music or just the experience itself, music festivals have become a well and enjoyable experience of the modern world.
