Aliso Niguel High School’s 2026 Winter Formal took place on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana. From 7 until 9 p.m., Students from all grades attended for a fun eventful time with bright lights and loud music.
The entrance was in front of the Yost Theater and there was a long line of students waiting to be let in. The doors opened at 6:50 p.m. and closed at 8 p.m. but students were able to leave anytime after 9 p.m. while the dance officially ended at 10 p.m..
The Yost Theater was decorated beautifully with the winter formal theme of Winter Wonderland. Inside the theater, there were two floors; the first floor had a dancing stage area where the DJ was stationed playing exceptionally fun music. The second floor had a beautiful gaming section with fun poker games for all to enjoy and on the other side of the wall was a Photo Booth area for friends to take silly pictures with for later memories of this occasion.
The DJ played great music throughout the whole night that had people jumping and dancing all night. Classic trendy music that everyone enjoyed included artists we have all come to love like Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Brittany Spears and all the classic 2000s music.
Siena Lassagard (12) says, “Dancing to all the songs I listened to growing up and dancing with my friends really made this night an unforgettable one.”
Students danced for hours to the music generated by the likeliness of our generation.
The staff provided a lighthearted environment while being highly helpful keeping watch outside and inside of the theatre. In the front of the theater were bag check-ins so students were able to keep their items safe. There was also a food station serving french fries and funnel cakes to enjoy.
Refreshments were spread out widely for everyone to drink. There was plenty of water and some fresh lemonade.
Aubrey Fletcher (12) says, “Dancing for so long made my feet hurt but the pain was definitely worth the fun I had with all my friends dancing to the amazing music.”
Enjoying the moment with friends can make the night go by so quickly.
The winter formal court was announced at the dance and the winners for our Senior class of the Winter Formal court were Nicole Aguirre and Dylan Wyatt.
There was no formal theme to the dance or dress code only to show up in semi formal clothes. Many boys wore nice suits and ties or neat button up shirts to up the class while girls were a mix of long formal dresses or short formal dresses. Each outfit was beautiful and unique, making each person enjoy their time.
A huge addition to the dance was that even with all the dancing and tired feet, there were lounges scattered around for people to rest and sit while still enjoying the vibe of the night.
This year’s prom was an exhilarating night for many students, allowing them to break free from the stresses of school for one night and let it loose having fun.
