The Certified Farmers Market program was created in 1977 and enables California Agricultural Producers to directly market their agricultural products to consumers. In Orange County, Certified Farmer’s Markets provide local consumers with a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, honey, eggs, plants and cut flowers.
This program has gone a long way, and this market can now be found just about anywhere you go! It all depends on the day you decide to go. Those who prosper selling goods, such as those listed above, and even homemade goods, can gather at this event and make their dreams come true.
To our community’s luck, a Farmer’s Market is held in the Aliso Viejo Town Center every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event draws in those in search of fresh groceries, and local people visiting the town center are drawn in to take a look as well.
This market is a great opportunity for those who wish to sell products, but is also a great opportunity for customers to collect homemade goods and fresh products. One of the customers, Paul McGlynn, compliments this event.
“I’m real happy to see Aliso Viejo finally open up a farmers market. They have a great selection of fresh produce that looks and tastes way better than what I can get at the local grocery store. I was also pleasantly surprised by some of the other merchants that I came across such as the tamale and breakfast burrito booth. I will definitely be back next Saturday to stock up on more items.”
Another customer, Kelly Anderson, also gives information about this event. “It’s a small market with plenty of nearby parking so you can get in and out quickly. But there are only about 5 fruit and vegetable vendors so the choices are limited. I like the availability of fresh, delicious coconut milk (in several flavors) and microgreens.”
Lastly, customer Sean Reigle speaks about the event and showcases the variety of vendors and products. “The market has a very good collection of vendors and not many duplicates. This event became much better after they changed the hours, if anyone is wanting to go I recommend three hat coffee, hot sauce, and burrito vendors.”
