Aliso Niguel High celebrated their 30 year anniversary at this year’s annual Back to School Night on Sept. 7. Wolverine parents, staff members, alumni and Orange County delegates attended the event.
Principal Hatcher started the event with a speech welcoming the guests and reminiscing about our school’s accomplishments and history.
Staff members who have been “Teal Since Day One” were honored with recognitions from the U.S. House of Representatives, California State Senate and the County of Orange.
Those teachers included 30 year staff members Ms. Alvarez, Mr. Chapman, Ms. Hokama, Ms. Klasna, Mr. Mack and Mr. Stirtz. Classified staff members Mrs. Wood and Mr. Long also received recognitions.
The event started at 5 p.m. with the ceremony and refreshments in the STEM building. The refreshments that night were cooked and provided by the school’s culinary classes. Paw-shaped cookies and “AN” stamped desserts were served.
Food trucks were parked outside the front office in anticipation of Back to School Night.
“The food trucks at the front of the school seemed like a hit,” stated ASB member Lakish Velineni (11).
Not only did this Back to School Night recognize ANHS’ hard working staff, but was also a designated time for parents to get to know their children’s teachers, classes and learning environments.
The event began with a Senior College Night presentation in the gym.
Then, at 6:20 p.m., ANHS parents began to navigate their way to their student’s Zero Period classes.
Parents followed their student’s schedule and spent 15 minutes in each class meeting and listening to teachers explain their course content and expectations.
Assistant Principal Hosseini said, “I hope [parents] feel that they have a committed team to support their students… We have an amazing staff and we are a very academically gifted school.”
One Aliso Niguel parent, Maryam Kakavand, commented, “It was an interesting experience as many of the classes I visited sat me in the same seats as my daughter and I got to communicate with the teachers and experience what she does daily.”
In , the end the night was a success for both parents and faculty.
