The graduation ceremony will bid farewell to the Class of 2026 on June 4 at 4:00 pm in the Wolverine Stadium. This traditionally held ceremony will include handing out diplomas, speeches from exemplary students and speeches from staff members on campus. This graduation will be the perfect send-off for an amazing class of seniors.
Each graduate is allowed five tickets initially for their family, and limited additional tickets can be purchased for 12 dollars. There are a limited number of extra tickets that are sold, each student is limited to purchasing five more in the first two weeks of sale starting May 12th, and then sales will open for unlimited sales on May 26th until they sell out. They will be available for purchase the day before the cap and gown distribution. Aliso Niguel ensures that students’ families are able to see this milestone in their lives, a mark of childhood to adulthood.
Anticipation for the event is growing among seniors, eager to finish their journey at Aliso Niguel High School. Although their memories and experiences with friends and wonderful teachers will be missed, many seniors express their excitement to move forward with their lives.
JJ Lacanienta (12), a graduating senior of 2026, says, “I am both excited and nervous for the event. It’s such a big thing, I feel like I’ve looked forward to it my whole life, so there’s so much pressure on it. I’m really excited to see what life beyond high school holds, and graduation is just the beginning of it. I’m so grateful to be able to attend this event with my family and friends and get my diploma to show all the hard work I’ve put in.”
Some parts of graduation this year are new, including a new parking system and diploma distribution. Each graduating student will receive, with their tickets, a parking pass that covers one car that their family can park in the ANHS lot. The parking will open at 2:00 PM on the day of graduation, and can only be accessed through Wolverine Way, so traffic will be clogged. Additionally, diplomas will now be distributed on the softball field after the ceremony.
Graduation rehearsal will occur the day before the ceremony, and each student is required to attend. If seniors do not attend the rehearsal, they will not be permitted to attend the main ceremony. In this rehearsal, the students do things like get additional non-school issue items approved, choose seating, receive their needed items, caps, gowns, tassels, etc. and receive complimentary tickets.
As time flies and this event inches closer, the school reminds students to stay in the moment and not let their anxieties get the best of them. No moments in high school are to be taken for granted, despite the opportunities to come.
Josephine Rettich (12) says, “It’s easy to get overwhelmed at this time, so I just remember to be grateful for the time I have left in high school. My family is really excited to attend the ceremony, and I’m taking things slow and absorbing all the fun I can.”
If any confusion about the graduation ceremony remains, more information can be accessed on the Aliso Niguel High School website. This day will prove itself to be one of the most important days in students’ lives so far, and represents what students have for them after this time. This ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to display the excellence of Aliso Niguel’s student body.
