Halloween season has officially begun, and many themed events are here just in time for the holiday. After the closure of most Halloween themed experiences last year, Orange County has returned with an amazing lineup of Halloween events.

As always, many theme parks in Orange County are holding special ticketed Halloween events. Knotts Scary Farm at Knotts Berry Farm and Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland have returned after a year away. In addition, there are events outside of Orange County such as Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and Howl-O-Scream at Seaworld. Along with these special tinted events, each theme park also has Halloween offerings during their normal park hours such as food, decorations and ride overlays.

Corrie Denton (11) visited Disneyland during Halloween time and said that“Main Street was absolutely covered in all these beautiful fall decorations, but my favorite part was the evening when all the Halloween lights came on!”

Some haunted houses in Orange County include Wraith House in Laguna Niguel and Prism Haunted House in Mission Viejo. Wraith House is run at the home of some ANHS students, and the proceeds will go to the Aliso Niguel Theatre Company. Prism Haunted House is a free experience with a mad scientist lab theme.

Elio Sherrill (12), a scare actor in Wraith House says, “I’m really excited for people to see the haunt and to support the Aliso Niguel Theatre Company.”

This year, the Laguna Niguel Haunted Trails is also returning. The event is similar to a haunted house except it takes place outdoors. The event will take place on Oct. 22 through Oct. 24 at Laguna Niguel City Hall. The Haunt of Halloween is another attraction, being held in Mission Viejo. This event includes a Halloween maze and an interactive scare zone. The event takes place Thursdays through Fridays, and ticket prices vary from 20 to 25 dollars.
