The Aliso Niguel High School varsity girls volleyball team has faced a tough league season this fall, competing against rival schools in a series of hard-fought matches that tested their skill, teamwork and resilience. With matches beginning in September against Beckman High School and continuing through early October, the team has been working hard to improve with each game.
The season kicked off on a strong note with a 3-1 win over Beckman. Their record also included key wins against schools like Dana Hills and Trabuco Hills, but also featured a series of close losses. Despite setbacks, the team remains focused on growth and finishing strong.
Throughout the season, the team’s league match results showed both their potential and their challenges. After alternating wins and losses early on, they experienced a losing streak mid-season, falling in tight matches against strong opponents.
One of the season highlights came on Senior Night, held at home against Trabuco Hills. The night was filled with celebration as the seniors were honored with flowers and matching necklaces featuring each player’s initials. Friends and family came out to support the team, filling the gym with cheers and encouragement.
“It was a super fun and memorable night,” said Kate Jameson (12). “We got to celebrate our final year together as seniors and end the night with a 3-0 win against Trabuco, which made it even better.”
Looking ahead, the team is staying motivated and using the challenges of this season as fuel for improvement. With a strong group of players and their commitment paying off, the Wolverines are focused on building their skills and strengthening team chemistry. The players continue to support one another on and off the court, knowing that every rep, serve and set contributes to their overall growth.
While the season has brought its fair share of difficulties, the team’s determination remains clear. They are ready to rise to the occasion, finish strong and carry the momentum into the rest of the season.
