I like to go with my friends, and my favorite memory was when I was laughing the entire time while I had to drag Yasi through the whole thing with her screaming at every jumpscare.” Going to Haunted Trails is a yearly tradition for Kimia, and she looks forward to it each year so she can create new, funny memories with her friends.
The Haunted Skate Contest that takes place on Oct. 25. is another fun event to attend as well. Local skaters will have the opportunity to show off their incredible skills while participating in a competition. This isn’t just any regular skating competition. Participants need to wear their best Halloween costumes if they want to increase their chance of winning the costume contest.
This event will have entertainment for all ages, including games, activities, giveaways, and much more. Food and refreshments will be provided, and ticket prices may range from five dollars to fifteen dollars per person. Their website provides all of the necessary information for those who are interested to participate or observe.
As always, trick-or-treating at the grand neighborhood of Nellie Gail has been a tradition in our large community. Friends and family look forward to seeing all of the impressive Halloween decorations that are displayed each and every year. It has been known that many houses throughout the neighborhood give out big-sized chocolate bars to the younger kids, giving them a delicious surprise.
Tigerlilee Flores (11) will be going to Nellie Gail this Halloween with her friend group. She says, “I’m so excited for my Halloween plans. Since it’s only a few weeks away, I’ve already prepared my costume. This year, I’m going to dress up as a tiger. I got the main parts of my costume from stores at the Irvine Spectrum Center. I’m curious to see everyone’s costumes and I hope to make a lot of new memories this year.”
Halloween isn’t only about costumes and candy. It’s about coming together as a community to create a fun environment for this scary celebration. The spirit of the season is what makes Halloween so special for everyone.
