Mr. Schniepp, a psychology and AP Psychology teacher, has spent his past years at Aliso Niguel High School with a special tradition: a sticker.
Schniepp has been known for his daily drawings on his whiteboard, allowing students to have a fun learning environment, but in recent years his drawings have become much more than that.
In 2023, one of the students of Schniepp took a drawing, and made it a small sticker. To many teachers, they held the sticker as a memorabilia, but Schniepp has turned it into a travel tradition for all.
Schniepp made many copies of these stickers and began sticking them all over the place. Students loved the fact that their teacher created a fun tradition, which grew the stickers to be far more popular.
Mr Schniepp shares, “I make a big deal of my drawings, to the point I made an Instagram for them and one day a student made a sticker of one of the drawings. Then I went on one trip and placed the sticker somewhere and students went wild about it. So then I made my own stickers and started handing them out to anybody who wanted to put them somewhere on vacation.”
This small gesture of sticking a sticker, has turned into so much more. In just the span of three years, Mr. Schniepp’s Instagram, “@schnieppstickers”, has 98 posts and has accumulated over 200 followers.
The gesture of placing a sticker is open to all students, as Schniepp wants to broaden his stickers world wide.
Currently his stickers have made it to every continent, except for Antarctica, with its oddest location, in Schniepp’s opinion, being in Afghanistan.
His stickers have brought much joy to Aliso Niguel’s students. Students find much joy walking around school, their city and places they travel to, to see these stickers.
A student of Schniepps, Greg Kaloustian (11), shares, “I feel like Schniepp stickers are quite fascinating for a self branding. I personally have one on one of my items and I really enjoy how he runs his Instagram. It’s really cool seeing him everywhere, to the point where he is like a celebrity. It’s also funny how he is quite literally everywhere, I swear, I’ve seen these stickers in the weirdest places, like a restaurant bathroom.”
While the stickers have had such an impact on students, it has truly come from Schniepp himself.
Mr. Schniepp promotes a fun-loving learning environment for all students. By creating small sketches daily, students become more motivated to learn to absolute proficiency.
The stickers have created a community of mini Schniepp’s worldwide and have built such unity throughout Aliso Niguel High School.
Although Schniepp teaches Juniors and Seniors, his stickers have been known by all students, especially underclassmen.
Sophomore, Kathryn Grecu Klaus, shares, “I think it’s really cool having a teacher at our school that has these stickers all around. I’ve seen my friend with some and it gets me really excited to hopefully take AP Psychology later in high school”.
In a world full of Psychology, Mr. Schniepp leaves a giant mark. From his daily sketches, to his international sticker, he is a teacher who plays an adamant role in Aliso Niguel High School’s history.
