Sept. 11, the Aliso Boys Waterpolo had their Villa Park Tournament, playing five games at Capo Valley High School.
Their first game was against Helix Charter High School with a close game ending with a 11 to 10 in favor of Aliso. The second game was against Orange Lutheran High School, unfortunately a loss by one point.
On the Second day of the tournament, they matched up against Righetti High School easily defeating them by three points finishing off 11 to 8.
On the third day of the tournament they played two games against Poway High School and Temecula Valley. After a tough fight against Poway the boys lost by two points but in their later game against Temecula Valley won by 8 points finishing, 15 to 7.
Tyler Bird comments, “The Villa Park Tournament was super fun. I scored a bunch of goals and we won a bunch of games”.
Sept. 18 Aliso played away against Trabuco Hills easily doubling their goals with an impressive 16 points.
The boys two most recent games were unfortunately losses against San Clemente and San Juan Hills. The matches ended at 10 to 16 and 7 to 9 respectively.
Currently Aliso is fourth in the South Coast league behind Beckman, San Clemente and San Juan Hills. Though, the teams overall is 13 wins to 6 losses.
Sammy Zeitawai says, “Yeah we got a few more games left in the season and I’m super excited for what’s to come. I hope we can do well in the league and hopefully move up a division”.
With just six more games in the season the Aliso boys aim to improve their record and ultimately win the South Coast League Championship.
