Club Rush on Sept. 10 and 12 gave all students a chance to join clubs that have originality with different purposes, giving students an event or after school activity to look forward to.
For the many freshmen that have difficulty adapting to the new and confusing world of high school, club rush is an excellent opportunity to make new friends and accomplish future goals, especially in clubs that hold personal hobbies or interests. Among a variety of different clubs, the Nutrition Club focuses on educating young students about nutritional facts, which is essential to learn about throughout life.
Mackenzie Will is a junior and she is the club president. She provides helpful information and insight for those interested in learning more about nutrition. Club meetings are held every third Friday of the month in Room 502.
The volunteer opportunities take place at several middle schools in the Aliso area, aiming to teach middle school students about healthy eating habits. Most of the volunteer jobs will be at Aliso Viejo Middle School.
Ridima Kazi says, ¨I joined this club because I want to learn about beneficial nutritional habits and I want to know how I can extend my longevity of life.¨
Club members participate in team-bonding activities while also gaining knowledge about how they can make significant changes in their lives in order to improve their health.
Kimia Ahmadi says, ¨I look forward to learning more about the benefits of good nutrition and for other activities throughout the year!¨
Mackenzie Will wants to make a difference in the community with this club. Her goal is to help with the obesity rates in the country, so educating middle school students in a familiar community is a great starting point with this passionate goal of hers that will eventually expand its overall impact.
