For the upcoming school year at Aliso Niguel High School, a new Associated Student Body Executive Council has been selected to serve the students and bring about new, fun activities to look forward to this year.
Leading the ASB Executive Council is Rijul Kashyap (12), who will serve as ASB President. Besides Rijul, Wyatt Dalby (12) will be joining him as Vice President, Rachael Ryan (12) as Secretary and Dilan Akdeniz (12) as Treasurer. Also, the Executive Council includes Mia Harris (12) as the Senior Director of Activities, Kolbie Maranowski (12) as Senior Director of Recognition and Jack Patterson (12) as Senior Director of Communications.
In addition to the new ASB Executive Council, the representative for the Senior Class President is Camryn Reece (12) and alongside Reece is Scarlett Niu (12) as Senior Class Vice President.
Under this new leadership, students can expect many fun events throughout the year with football games, lunchtime activities, intramural sports, enjoyable pep rallies and many other events planned to help engage students. All members of the council are focused and actively getting work done to make this school year an amazing one.
Kashyap himself expresses genuine enthusiasm for his role and the environment that comes with it.
He shared, “ If I’m being completely honest, I love the ability to lead. I love all the chaos and energy that comes with day-to-day life in ASB, and I love that I’m fully enthralled in it now and am in a position to achieve more.”
When asked about his priorities as ASB President, Kashyap emphasizes the importance of school spirit.
“Besides some things regarding how ASB functions internally, my biggest focus this year is seeing how we can spread all of our school spirit from football season all around campus,” stated Kashyap. “I do not want us to just be known for being spirited at games but rather be spirited as a whole even in other aspects.”
Dalby also highlighted his excitement for the upcoming year and the council’s dedication to creating more involvement across all areas of campus life.
“This year, we hope to accomplish bringing the same, if not more hype, to not only football, but all sports across the campus,” Dalby said. “We’re excited to bring a lot of energy into our basketball season and fill the stands. Additionally, we look to use this same energy to help support our community through our philanthropy events and drives… We have a lot of great events coming up like the senior sunrise, homecoming and prom.”
