As the 24-25 school year comes to a close, the senior class of 2025 is preparing for graduation. To honor the seniors’ four years at Aliso Niguel, the Associated Student Body (ASB) put together one last pep rally that took place on May 2.
The hosts of the rally took the stage and announced themselves. The hosts included the Senior Class President, Kristy Kim, Senior Class Vice President, Sienna Stand, Senior Director of Activities, Faith Huebner and Senior Director of Recognition, Finn Sullivan.
The hosts quickly announced Sophie Lowry (12) to sing the National Anthem and kick off the rally.
After the anthem was sung, the ASB played the senior interview video and the senior crush video. They were both hilarious and heartfelt as many of the seniors confessed their love for Rhi Beyer (12).
Ari Bilewitz (12) then hosted an outstanding game of trivia that quizzed contestants on their knowledge of Aliso Niguel. Griffin Stowe (12) took an early lead in the game and continued to be victorious throughout it. Stowe won a front of the line pass for him and three friends that can be redeemed at Prom or the Senior Brunch.
The dance team captains, Jayzelle Jahanzeb (12) and Mia Ross (12), then gave the audience a performance to remember. They did a duet to “Ribs” by Lorde and it was a tearjerker for lots of seniors in the crowd.
ASB President, Drake Smith (12), then gave a speech about his time at Aliso and his time as ASB President: “It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve as your Student Body President. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was here at our welcome back pep rally.”
He then announced a new tradition that the class of 2025 would be starting. Graduation seniors are now able to vote for their four favorite teachers, or least favorite teachers, to read the names at graduation.
Kim and Stand then made their way back to the stage to give speeches and announce the senior superlatives.
Kim said, “We made it through these last four years together and that is something to be very proud of. Moments like cheering at football games and singing at dances are just some of the times that made this year meaningful.”
“I am sure that many of you can agree that our four years here have gone by faster than expected, but it is important to remember that it’s never too late to start cherishing our last weeks together. It is easy to get wrapped up in what’s to come, like finals and AP Exams, so let’s make sure we make the most of the time we have left,” added Stand.
Shortly after, the ASB played a video with teacher interviews. It showcased Dr. Belanto, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Ross, Dr. Mahindrakar and many other staff members. They gave words of encouragement and wisdom to the graduating class of 2025.
The Prom court finalists were announced next, with a reminder that the true Prom King and Queen will be announced at Prom on May 3.
Finally, to wrap up the senior send off pep rally, they played a video full of pictures that the senior’s had submitted to demonstrate a recap of their four years together. The video was very emotional as it was accompanied by the song “Where’d All The Time Go” by Dr. Dog.
This was by far the best pep rally of the year for many as it served as a goodbye for many of the seniors. There are still many senior activities to come, so this was just the beginning of the end.
