As the 2025 school year comes to a close, Aliso Niguel High School seniors have a lineup of exciting events to celebrate their final weeks as high school senior students. From spirited pep rallies to emotional farewell gatherings, the Class of 2025 has a packed schedule designed to create lasting memories.
Leading up to graduation, the class of 2025 can look forward to activities organized by the Associated Student Body of ANHS. These events will include a senior week, one final pep rally, prom dance, senior awards ceremony, senior sunset, senior brunch, graduation rehearsal and lastly, the actual graduation itself.
From April 28 to May 2, the 2025 seniors celebrate Senior Week with daily themes. Monday was “Senioritis,” which was essentially “Pajama Day,” followed by “Bring Anything But a Backpack Day” on Tuesday. Wednesday featured “Human Yearbook,” where seniors wore white shirts for classmates to sign. Thursday’s theme was “Dress as Your Younger Self,” and the week wrapped up Friday with students wearing senior merch or red, the class color, which aligned with the day of the pep rally.
Starting off officially with the senior exclusive pep rally, held prior to prom during Wolverine+, this year’s rally theme is High School Musical. The rally included a highlight video showcasing the 2024-2025 school year, featuring seniors attending various school events and activities, fun interview questions and revealing their senior crush confessions. Senior superlatives were announced and a trivia game tested knowledge about key moments in the past four years at ANHS. The event also included final performances by senior members of the dance team, DA, and pep squad.
The following day after the pep rally, ANHS held its prom on Saturday, May 3, at the Observatory in Santa Ana. With a “La La Land” theme, the event ran from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and featured a lively mosh pit, photo booth, soda and fry bars, a game room and lounge area. Before the dance started, many students attended a pre-event gathering at the San Juan Hills train tracks for a senior class group prom photo, capturing the memories ahead of the night’s festivities.
With a busy start to May, senior festivities at ANHS are temporarily on hold as students begin Advanced Placement exams. Celebrations will resume with the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the gym, recognizing outstanding student achievements.
On May 30, a few days after, the seniors will gather at Salt Creek Hill for “Senior Sunset,” a sequel event that is a symbolic end to first semester’s “Senior Sunrise,” where the Class of 2025 reflects on their journey together while watching the sun set. Starting at 6:30 p.m., this relaxed gathering will feature snacks and a chance to reminisce about their high school journey.
June 4 will be the day prior to graduation, which is a graduation rehearsal day. Seniors will participate in a mandatory rehearsal at 9 a.m. to prepare themselves for the big day. Seniors must be present at the rehearsal in order to walk in the graduation ceremony. After the rehearsal, there will be a Senior Brunch hosted at Coto de Caza Country Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as a final chance to celebrate together as a class before the official graduation ceremony.
The grand finale of senior student events will take place on June 5, 2025; the official graduation day for ANHS class of 2025.
Mrs. Ross, the activities director at ANHS, said, “Graduation is probably the most memorable moment for students, just because everything they’ve done up to that point comes together. Everyone’s had their own journey, so it means something a little different to each person, like the challenges they’ve faced and the successes they’ve had. It really feels like the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. It’s an emotional and exciting day for so many seniors, where they can finally say it was all worth it.”
Each graduating senior will receive 5 tickets for family and friends, with additional tickets available for purchase starting May 13, though they are subject to an initial limit the first two weeks. Stadium gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the ceremony begins at 4 p.m., expected to last approximately an hour and a half. Graduates are not permitted to use cell phones during the ceremony to maintain formality and focus.
Kristy Kim (12), the 2025 senior class president, said, “I’m really excited for the class of 2025 to keep moving forward and reach that big, meaningful moment together. I just hope that, as a class, we all stay close and don’t drift too much apart as we wrap up this important chapter in our lives.”
Post-graduation, the new graduates will cap off their celebrations with Grad Nite; a special event hosted by the PTA. This exclusive post-graduation trip to Disneyland offers seniors one last chance to enjoy time with classmates and mark the end of their high school journey in a memorable way.
