At Aliso Niguel High School, the Class of 2025 is preparing to celebrate a cherished tradition, the senior banners. These personalized banners honor each graduate’s achievements and aspirations, creating a vibrant display of school spirit across the campus. Displayed prominently, they serve as a testament to the diverse talents and futures of the graduating class. Banners will be allowed for families to take home on graduation day after being displayed during graduation. Students can purchase their banners at the Kiosk or online for $80 through May 11 and $90 through May 16.
The process of thinking about these banners begins early during senior year. Students are invited to submit personalized designs that often include their portrait, name, school logo, extracurricular activities and sometimes a short quote or the logo of the college they plan to attend. The banners are printed on durable materials to withstand the elements, ensuring they remain vibrant throughout their display period.
Lilly Carey (12) shares, “Senior banners are an amazing way to highlight all the hard work and dedication of students graduating from ANHS. Banners help display their college plans as a tribute to their achievements.”
Seeing the rows of colorful, customized banners instills a deep sense of pride and unity among the senior class. Friends, family members and underclassmen often take the time to admire the display, celebrating the seniors’ achievements and the culmination of their high school journey. For many students, seeing their own banner hanging is a surreal and emotional experience, marking a significant milestone in their lives.
Mrs. Young, our Kiosk activities staff member, shares, “The senior banners are really great as they give students the opportunity to show off their future colleges.”
Teachers and staff also take pride in the banners, viewing them as a celebration of their students’ growth and accomplishments. The banners are not just personal milestones but community events that energize the entire school spirit. Leading up to graduation, many students choose to take professional photos with their banners as keepsakes, capturing tangible memories of their final year at Aliso Niguel. After graduation, students typically have the option to take their banners home as memories, often displaying them in their bedrooms or saving them for their college dorm rooms.
The senior banners have become a beloved tradition that families look forward to, with younger siblings often excitedly anticipating the day they will have their own. The 2025 senior banners promise to be especially meaningful, as this class has navigated a unique high school experience shaped by resilience and adaptability. The banners symbolize not just academic achievement but also perseverance and a renewed sense of optimism for the future.
As anticipation builds, students are encouraged to start thinking about how they want to be remembered and what message they want their banner to convey. Whether highlighting athletic achievements, artistic talents, leadership roles or simply showcasing their personal style, the class of 2025’s senior banners will tell hundreds of individual stories while coming together to create a beautiful, unified display of Aliso Niguel’s pride and tradition. With the final months of high school ticking down, the banners will serve as a daily reminder to savor every last moment of senior year and look forward to the bright horizons ahead. Students and parents can visit the official Aliso Niguel High School website or contact the school’s activities office. Ensuring timely submission and adherence to guidelines will help maintain the tradition’s integrity and allow every senior to celebrate this memory.
