The Aliso Niguel boys lacrosse team continued their impressive run with a 12-4 victory over El Dorado High School in the second round of CIF playoffs. With this win, the Wolverines move one step closer to their ultimate goal: the CIF championship title.
This season, Aliso Niguel proved to be a formidable team, finishing second in league standings and securing wins in the majority of their matchups. Their consistency, team chemistry, and strong work ethic were on display throughout the season.
The Wolverines capped off league with a final game against Santiago High School on April 19. Aliso came out strong and maintained control throughout the game, ultimately doubling their opponent’s score and securing a 10-5 victory. The match served as a final boost of momentum heading into the playoffs.
Just days earlier, on April 15, Aliso faced off against their longtime rival, San Clemente High School. The anticipation leading up to the game was intense, and both teams brought high energy and aggressive play.
The team who led the game shifted between the two, making for a thrilling and competitive match. Ultimately, Aliso emerged victorious with a narrow 5-4 win.
Captain Rami Dakak (12), commented on the win on behalf of the team, “We did it!”
Earlier in the month, on April 3, Aliso took on Trabuco Hills High School. The Wolverines dominated possession and played with confidence, executing key plays on both offense and defense. Their efforts paid off with a 10-6 win.
On April 1, the Wolverines squared off against Tesoro High School. Aliso maintained a steady lead throughout the game, showing discipline and strong coordination on the field. The game concluded with a 7-5 win, adding another win to their season’s success.
However, not every game went in Aliso’s favor. On March 27, the team faced a tough loss against rival San Clemente in a hard-fought battle. Despite a strong showing, Aliso fell short with a final score of 5-7. The defeat only fueled their drive to improve, as reflected in their later rematch win.
Two days prior, on March 25, Aliso played against Mission Viejo High School. The Wolverines showcased their signature teamwork and resilience, capitalizing on scoring opportunities and holding a solid defensive line. The result was a well-earned 9-5 victory.
Once league ended, the team had one last item on their checklist, CIF.
Senior Cade Saito, states, “We hope we get far into playoffs and a chance at being the CIF Champs”.
Along with the school year as the season comes to a close, the team hopes to get their well-deserved CIF championship title.
