During the month of March, Aliso Niguel High School’s Associated Student Body begins their process of electing their council for the upcoming school year.
With many interviews, applications and campaigning, a council is decided and within that council, a president.
With the 2024-2025 school year coming near an end, Aliso welcomes their newest ASB President: Rijul Kashyap.
Kashyap is a current junior and has been a member of ASB for the past two years of his high school career.
Kashyap began his journey on ASB as a member of the Social Media Committee, but after showing great excellence in his work, and a commitment to ASB, he became the Social Media Commissioner, overlooking graphics and social media.
When asked about his time on ASB the past two years Kashyap shares, “I love a lot about ASB. It has truly provided me with an opportunity to showcase my abilities outside of a normal classroom and also providing a sense of community. I’ve met so many new people through ASB and have accomplished a lot of things that wouldn’t have been possible without it.”
Kashyap played a large role in promoting our school throughout the football season through collaborations with the OC Student Section.
With Kashyap’s great management skills within the Social Media Committee, he was able to bring attention to a lot of the work and dedication ASB truly has.
An ASB President plays a crucial role in representing not only ASB, but the entire student body. The ASB President is meant to be a leader who is able to communicate with the students on how to make the school a community, all of which Kashyap is prepared and ready to do.
Football season is a crucial part of setting up the feel for the remainder of the year, getting students excited and the freshmen integrated into the high school culture.
“I’m proud to have built a strong sense of school spirit and our historically large student section this year. I’m excited to pass it down to the next President, hoping they can maintain and grow it for future wolverines to come” shares current President, Drake Smith (12).
Kashyap is prepared to carry on the legacy of a winning student section and is ready to pump it up to the next level.
Being president comes with many responsibilities, all of which Kashyap is capable of, “I’m excited to continue bringing our school’s spirit. We’ve already accomplished so much this year and I really want to continue that trend moving forward,” shares Kashyap.
School spirit is a large aspect to the culture at Aliso Niguel High School. Whether it be dress-up days, or the pep rallies, Aliso is ramped up and ready to celebrate the school.
Kashyap is ready to serve as a voice of the students, wanting to make sure that everyone is heard and able to put in their own input. Kashyap wants to continue the positive Aliso culture and encourages student involvement within the campus.
The ASB President plays a vital role within the high school experience and Kashyap is ready to advocate for the students, and continue making Aliso Niguel High School the engaging and supporting campus it has been sought out to be.
