Aliso Niguel High School’s Boys Golf Team began their 2025-2026 season with victory after victory, leading many on the team to begin considering themselves as a real contender in the competition for the League Championship.
The Aliso Niguel Boys Golf team had their first official League game on March 19, 2025. The Aliso team played against Trabuco Hills High School at their home golf course of El Niguel Country Club.
The final score of 209 to 228 would end the match in an Aliso victory, starting the season on a win.
The next day, Aliso Niguel would face off against the Trabuco Hills Golf Team again, returning to the El Niguel Country Club.
Continuing their dominant run, the Aliso Golf team would finish with a score of 205 to 225, taking the win by another large margin.
Unfortunately, their next league game on March 26, 2025, against Beckman High School, was canceled.
As of March 26, 2025, the Aliso Niguel High School Golf Team sits at an impressive 2-0 record for their League games.
The current win streak has left many members of the team hopeful for a potential League Championship title.
Austyn Le (11) is a player on the Varsity Golf Team for Aliso Niguel High School. He said, “I think our team has [a] chance at the League [Championship] because we look much better than last year.”
Mr. Turney is one of this year’s Varsity Boys Golf coaches. When asked if the team had a good chance of winning the championship, he said, “It’s actually going pretty good. We’ve got a good group of young guys.”
This year, the biggest competition for Aliso is Beckman High School. Beckman is currently a Division 1 team for golf, and pose the greatest challenge standing in the way of Aliso Niguel’s Golf Team and the League Championship title.
The Varsity Golf Team is widespread across all classes. There are many returning seniors, but also many handworking freshmen. The coaches are hopeful that as the freshmen continue to work their way through the program, improving and honing their skills year after year.
Coach Turney said the team is in high spirits, remarking the boys are, “ready to get at it.”
The team plans to face off against Beckman High School once their match is rescheduled. In the coming weeks, the Aliso Golf Team is expected to tee off against Mission Viejo High School on April 1 and 3, 2025. The week after Aliso will go against San Juan Hills, and then against El Toro in the week after. Their matches against El Toro will bring their League matches for the year to an end.
