The Aliso Viejo Library is temporarily closed for tenant enhancements and is scheduled to reopen on April 20, 2025. Any holds may be picked up at the El Toro Library instead located at 24672 Raymond Way, Lake Forest, CA.
All of Orange County’s public library branches have plans to be remodeled; a couple are completed every year. Last year, the Aliso library had a remodeling after being on the waiting list for a couple of years. This year, the tenant enhancements being made are relatively smaller improvements to address maintenance issues.
The specific details of the improvements are not known yet, but these small improvements are aimed to help with the user experience. To address accessibility issues with the growing community, more shelves and their rearrangements can be expected as well as a deep clean of the entire library.
One of the main issues that was addressed last year was the building’s roof as it has had frequent leaks, so this will be re-checked. The library also had energy-efficient lights installed so these bulbs will be checked and replaced. The library system such as the computer system and the electricity will also be re-checked, as well.
Anyone who is in need of a library can visit any OC library such as El Toro Library, Laguna Niguel Library or the Laguna Hills Technology Library. To see updates of any changes, visit the OC Library website for additional information.
Unlike last year, this year’s improvement is minor but will nevertheless improve the user experience by providing a cleaner, easier use of the library.
The temporary closure may cause inconvenience for everyday visitors, but small improvements will greatly improve the experience of the library and will hopefully bring more reading joy.
