The Aliso Boys’ tennis team has started its preseason practices, which take place every sixth period. They are preparing for their season, which begins in a couple of weeks.
The Boys had their Tennis Tryouts on Dec. 9-13 at the Aliso Niguel tennis courts. Medical clearance was required, and every member had to attend all days. Their official season does not start until March 18 when they will have their first regular season league match.
The preseason starts on Feb. 18 when they will have their team photos taken at 1:45 p.m. at Aliso Niguel High School.
The first match of their pre-season will occur two days after the team pictures against Laguna Hills at 3 p.m. at Aliso Niguel High School. This is just the first match of a total of 15 not including CIF.
Feb. 26 Aliso will once again play on their home court against El Toro at 3 p.m. Next on March 4, they will play away at Santa Margarita at 3 p.m. followed by Mater Dei just a day later.
On Tuesday, March 11 Aliso plays away against Trabuco Hills at 3 p.m. and Capo Valley at Aliso on Thursday the 13 at 3 p.m.
On March 18 the Aliso Boys will start their regular season league against Tesoro on Aliso’s home court. Two days later, on Thursday, Aliso faces off against Dana Hills.
After a seven-day break, the Boys come back to a match off against Beckman High School. On the first day of April, San Clemente is at Aliso’s court facing off at 3 p.m.
On April 3, Aliso plays Tesoro once again for their second and last time in the league. After a 12-day Spring Break, they will hop right back into a game against Dana at their courts.
Then on April 17, they will face San Juan Hills for the first time, which is another pre-season game. For their last regular season league match they will play Beckman on April 22 at Aliso’s home court to finish off their league matches.
The last match they will play for the regular season will be against San Clemente at their home courts on March 24.
After their season ends, they will enter their CIF games where only a select few will be able to compete.
Finally, on May 20 the boys will have their Tennis Banquet at 5:30 at the Hills Hotel, hopefully celebrating CIF winners and their overall success during the season.
