Aliso Niguel High School’s Winter Formal tickets went on sale starting Wednesday, Dec. 4. The dance will take place on Jan. 18, 2025, and will be held at the [AV] Irvine venue. The dance will last from 7 to 10 p.m.
There was a flash sale from that Wednesday to Friday, and prices have now started to increase and will continue to increase approximately every week. Tickets and entry to the dance are available to all grade levels at ANHS.
Students with ASB cards will receive $10 off the price of their ticket, and seniors with the Black and Teal Package do not need to pay for their ticket because it’s already included in the package.
Students can purchase tickets online at the student store, or at the ASB kiosk in the food court.
Guests who do not attend ANHS are also welcome to the dance, and their tickets cost $100. Guest tickets must be purchased in person. Guests must also sign an ASB approval form in order to attend the dance.
At the dance, there will be food, a coffee bar and other drinks offered. There will also be a DJ, a photo booth and numerous games and activities.
The theme of the dance was announced on Friday, Dec. 6, to be Tangled, leading students to anticipate mainly purple, green and gold decorations.
Whitney Luu (10), a student at ANHS said, “I’m so excited to go to winter formal this year because last year’s was so much fun. My absolute favorite parts of the dance were the photo booth and coffee bar.”
Winter Formal is a formal dance, where students typically dress in long dresses and nice suits. There will be a dress code that is expected to be followed in order to enter the dance. If a student does not dress formally enough, they can be refused entry into the venue.
The venue, [AV] Irvine, is not far from ANHS and is located right by Irvine Spectrum, offering students great options to get together, eat and take pictures before the dance starts. The location is convenient for students because they have a near drive to the venue. Students also do not need to stress about finding a place to eat before, because there are plenty of options less than a mile away.
Whitney Luu added, “I’m glad the venue is closer this year because the venue last year was really far, and the drive was a little inconvenient.”
The venue is different from last year’s, which was Hangar 21. This year’s venue has 25,000 square feet, which is fitting for the amount of people that will be attending the dance. There are also huge glass windows, making the venue feel even more spacious than it already is.
A lot of students had a great time at the dance last year and hopefully, this time it will be a super fun event too to start the new year off right.
