Aliso Niguel’s Boys Soccer team is starting their season in the winter and hopes to regain their League Championship title.
Aliso is currently part of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 after winning the CIF Division 2 title in 2021.
Aliso had a three League Championship win streak starting from the 2021-2022 season all the way up until last year, losing to San Clemente, who had a nearly perfect season going seven wins and one tie. Aliso came in second with a record of three wins, three losses and two ties.
The boys are led by their Head Coach Daniel Pask along with their Assistant Coaches, Steven Fagundes, Alex Martinez, Ryan Mann and Alek Cucuk.
The main players are number 1 Jacob Estall (11) the goalkeeper, number 4 Ben Neemann (12) and the defender with number 8 Chase Seager (12). At forwards are number 10 Takudzwa Kajese (11) and 37 Kyle Kakimoto (12).
The midfielders are 20 Braeden Collins (12) and number 30 Logan Vargas (12).
In the South Coast League, Aliso is up against Capo Valley, Mission Viejo, San Clemente and San Juan Hills. Their main competition this year is against San Clemente, who they will play twice.
In their schedule, Aliso will play a total of 16 games starting with teams outside of the South Coast League.
Seven of the games will be played before winter break starting with Dana Hills on Dec. 2 and ending with Foothill on Dec. 12. In between they will play Fountain Valley, Sonora, Servite, Laguna Beach and Santa Margarita.
After winter break they will start off with El Toro on Jan. 4, followed by the start of their league games.
First, they will start with San Juan Hills on Jan. 8, followed by Mission Viejo two days later, then against Capo Valley on Jan. 13. Next they will play their first game against San Clemente on Jan. 17.
They will play the same four teams in their respective orders on Jan. 22, 24 and 29, and finish off with Feb. 3 as their last league game.
If the boys do well in their league this year, they will have a shot to play in CIF to hopefully come back for another CIF win.
