Like the typical American High School, Aliso Niguel has had some great homecoming proposals this year for the homecoming on campus on Oct. 18.
There have been many great proposals this year, both between friends and couples, shared on social media through an Instagram account. As of release, over 100 Homecoming proposals have been recorded.
The page is run by two people who wish to remain anonymous, as they believe it will help them better run the page.
The account was a new addition this year, the anonymous page runners said, “Our social media team thought it was a good idea…to help engage students.”
The students used the Instagram account to help promote homecoming in hopes that it would boost ticket sales and get more students involved with school-run activities.
Students can submit photos and videos of their proposals to the Aliso Proposals Instagram page to show their fellow students their own proposals. Students in all grades have received a Homecoming proposal this year.
Isha Kale (12) received a Homecoming Proposal from Quinn Curtis (12) this month. Grace Hirakawa (10) and Jacob Boyne (10) are also going together, both pairs submitting photos of their proposals and posters to the Aliso Proposals Page.
To help with engagement on each post, the Aliso Proposals page includes fun and interactive captions. They also include the names of both students involved in the post.
The anonymous page says they do this to “help promote the proposals to friends.”
This tactic may be working as most posts include kind words from friends, most posts reaching over 200 likes.
Many students consider homecoming to be the best dance students of all grades can attend. Introducing new advertisement techniques encourages students to attend the homecoming dance as well as creates student connections.
With the success of the account for Aliso’s 2024 Homecoming, the page runners have decided to keep the account running for the next two dances in the 2024-2025 school year.
