Shining a focus on the prominent Athletic talent Jarett Sabol (12), he has already been showing his dominance on the field in both baseball and football.
Sabol has been playing football since his freshman year of high school and baseball for far longer. He started playing football to help get his mind off of baseball but quickly found out that he liked the sport.
Sabol comes from a very competitive family. His brothers Stefan and Blake played division one baseball in college and were drafted by the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates, respectively.
Just like his brothers, Sabol has committed to the University of Southern California to play baseball.
Sabol plans on either going to USC to play baseball while getting a business degree and then getting drafted to the MLB or getting drafted to play professional baseball straight out of high school.
This year is Sabol’s draft year and he comments, “I am super excited for my future and I work to get better every day to pursue my dreams of playing in the MLB just like my brothers.”
Sabol has a list of awards he has won including All-CIF for football and baseball during his sophomore year and another All-CIF for football in his junior year. He is looking to win another CIF championship this year as well as being honored as All-CIF again.
During last year’s baseball season, Sabol averaged a 0.356 in batting and a 0.981 fielding percentage. Unfortunately, Aliso tied for league champions with San Juan Hills High School but ended with an impressive 18-7 record going 9-3 in the league.
This year has started off amazing for Sabol in his last football season. He has played eight games this season as Aliso’s main running back with almost 1100 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
Along with the new quarterback Carter Vestermark (11), Sabol’s stats have gone through the roof. He averages 136 rushing yards per game with an average of 6.3 yards per rush.
On Oct. 18, Aliso went head-to-head against Laguna Beach who was favored to win but Aliso managed to pull through, beating Laguna by 20 points. Out of the 34 points scored by Aliso, Sabol scored two touchdowns resulting in 12 points which is double the second highest scorer.
Sabol comments, “There is always something different about high school football. From the locker rooms blasting songs and getting psyched out to running onto the field in preparation for the game, to playing the intense and competitive game in front of your whole school.”
Without the help of the Aliso coaching staff, Sabol says that he would not be where he is today. He says that they are all hardworking, unselfish and dedicated to the team.
