Homecoming tickets are on sale as of Sept. 16, and are available to purchase until Oct. 18, with the dance on Oct. 19. Tickets can be purchased at the ASB kiosk or online.
The dance will be from 7-10 p.m. on the blacktop at Aliso Niguel High School with a variety of activities—games, rides, a DJ, a coffee bar and more—to make the dance enjoyable for all students.
The theme of the dance is Musikfest, which captures the essence of various music festivals, such as Coachella. Each class represents a different popular artist, which will be announced at the first pep rally of the year on Friday, Oct. 4.
Ticket sales have started off strong, with more than 800 tickets sold to students already. The dance is for students who attend Aliso Niguel only, meaning no guests are permitted. This creates a unique opportunity for students to get to know classmates better who they normally would not see outside of class.
Ms. Ross, the ASB activities advisor said, “It’s the first big event of the school year. It really is that first opportunity to just bond with your grade and your school in general.”
The layout of the dance will consist of two main rides, karaoke and a DJ set up on the blacktop. There will also be games available in the freshman area and a coffee bar nearby.
Entry into the dance includes a mandatory pocket search and breathalyzer test, in order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of every student at the event. Event staff will also ensure that no unnecessary items are brought into the venue, such as chapstick, gum or water bottles.
Various snacks and drinks will also be provided during the dance with the help of the Parent Teacher Student Association, such as Gatorade and water bottles.
This year’s dance will be very similar to last year’s, with many of the same games, rides and snack stations. The karaoke area was a big hit last year, as well as the giant swings and Ferris Wheel. All of these attractions will be returning this year for Homecoming 2024.
Ross said, “It’s a night to be with your friends and enjoy that true homecoming experience.”
The fall pep rally will be on Friday, Oct. 4 during third period, replacing Wolverine+ that day and shortening every class. At this event, the homecoming court will be introduced, the theme of each grade level and the homecoming week dress up days that are assigned for each grade.
Tickets are started at $65 for students with ASB cards and $75 for those who don’t have one. The prices will continue to increase, and the last day to purchase tickets is Oct. 18, and on that date, tickets will be $100.
Homecoming is promoted on Canvas announcements and the Aliso Niguel Instagram page under the account @anhswolverines. Information about where to purchase tickets, what the theme is and about the homecoming football game and halftime show will be advertised there.
