As Homecoming week approaches, students are buzzing with excitement to find out the theme at one of the most exciting events of the school year—the Homecoming pep rally.
This year’s rally, organized by the Associated Student Body, promises to deliver an unforgettable experience to kick off the school year. Their goal for this homecoming pep rally is to create a positive environment for those on campus and to ensure that students have fun.
During the rally, students can look forward to seeing Aliso’s fall sports captains, the homecoming court, and most importantly, the homecoming theme. In addition to these announcements, students will also enjoy watching mini-games played by the sports teams.
Over the summer, ASB attended OCL (Orange County Leadership Camp) with ASBs from all over Orange County in attendance. Together, they learned new games and activities to implement which was crucial in planning this pep rally. They have worked hard to deliver this rally and hope to make it as fun as possible by showing off their amazing school spirit.
Olivia Trieu (10), a member of the Pep Committee said, they have “…learned so many new skills and games [to] incorporate into our rallies” and have [put a lot of thought and effort into planning this first rally.”
ASB’s major goal at this rally is to make students feel included and engaged to deliver a sense of community and pride at Aliso. With a strong emphasis on school spirit and community, this year’s Homecoming pep rally will help unite students and create a even more positive environment to kick of the school year.
Beyond showcasing these exciting suprises, students can also look forward to high-energy performances by Dance Appreciation, the dance team, song, and cheer. They will display their outstanding talent and effort, giving us a preview at what is to be expected of their team throughout the year.
Olivia shared that her “…favorite part of our rallies is usually the games and [to] watch our performing teams,” which was many of the students’ favorites last year as well. These teams have worked hard in preparation for this rally so everyone should look forward to their outstanding performances.
Like last year, the pep rally will be held during Wolverine+ in two separate groups. In the gym, there will be four sections, one for each of the different classes, so students should sit down at their designated section.
If students would like to be part of the pep rallies in the future, there will be QR codes to scan and Canvas announcements to sign up. This allows students to participate in games and activities being held at the pep rallies and become more involved int he school community.
The pep rally will be held on October 4 next week. Students should look forward to this pep rally and are encouraged to show their spirit. Get ready to make some noise and kick of the amazing school year!
