The new year at Aliso Niguel High School is a time to welcome a new set of senior merch for the 2024-2025 season. As many students have a whirlwind of emotions for their last year of highschool, the school merch may significantly benefit their experience at ANHS.
I believe that the senior merch this year expressed great quality and creativity that is sure to satisfy many students. Although the merch is pretty pricey, getting clothes that make you feel included in your community may be worth the cost for many people.
My favorite piece from the collection this year was the “2senior season szn” sweatshirt. This hoodie is a creamy gray color which features a nice black label that refers to the senior’s last year. It also has a big star or diamond that is overlayed with another as a part of the hoodies’ attributes.
The back of the hoodie also mentions “SENIOR collection est. 2025.” This feature really adds to the fashionable vintage style that inspired this piece. I think this sweatshirt attracts many students because of its modern style that appeals to current trends in fashion.
Alyssa Vargas (12), a senior at ANHS, says, “I would honestly buy the senior merch this year because it’s simple but not boring. Its style has futuristic 2025 vibes and I think it would look good with many outfits.”
Each top in the ANHS collection has the big “ALISO” print featured somewhere on the shirt or hoodie, but I appreciated the variety in color and style each piece had that made them differentiate from each other. It is important to have different options of merch in order to satisfy a greater number of students with different opinions because what one student may like, another may not.
Besides the hoodie, there were t-shirts available alongside them as well. These t-shirts come in either black or red, and they have the same “2senior season” print. These t-shirts are more on the simple side; however, these shirts would be good for anyday occasions and school activities.
Ella Haugo (12), says, “I really liked the new designs of our senior merch. They look like good quality and it would be a nice little reminder of our time in high school once we graduate.”
If the style of the main “2senior season” sweatshirt is not appealing, there are also crewnecks with a more simple design as an option. These crewnecks have a plain “ALISO” lettering encircled by two lines.
The crewnecks remind me of a more vintage surfer style that is very different from the gray hoodie. Although they are different, I think that both are cute which goes to show that the merchandise has much potential this year.
Even though the crewnecks do not have a wild design, its simple aesthetic is still cute and very stylish. They come in two colors, teal and black, so they can go well for events such as football games or teal gates.
The senior merch is sure to have a good impact on the senior students at ANHS this year. For future years, it can become a reference or an inspiration for new and creative merch!
