The wait is over, Aliso Niguel High School Football alongside the infamous roaring den is finally back. In the offseason, the Wolverines have been working hard in order to get the most out of their roster.
Aliso Head Coach Calahan explains the changes that were made in order to succeed in the new season: “We changed the way we lifted weights and attacked the offseason. We are pretty experienced.”
Proving Coach Calahan’s point, the Wolverines were prepared for the Laguna Hills Hawks, they avenged last year’s loss by beating them 21-14. Jarrett Sabol (12) was the star player of the night, rushing for a total of 170 yards and averaging eight yards per carry. Sabol also scored two touchdowns.
The Wolverines also performed well on defense. Logan Wagner (11) came up big for the Wolverines, recording two sacks on Laguna Hills’ quarterback.
In the first away game and second game of the year, the Wolverines showed up both on the field and in the stands as well. Aliso ‘cooked’ the El Toro Chargers with a final score of 28-14.
The Wolverines will be competitive as they take on new opponents from the newly formed Foxtrot league. Teams in Orange County are now ranked by record to determine league memberships. This year’s opponents include Dana Hills, Fountain Valley, Laguna Beach, Northwood and Orange now grouped together in the new league.
