The most recent track event was on March 14 against Capo Valley High School. Aliso Niguel had an excellent performance, taking home many first place finishes.
The Aliso girls 4×100 varsity Relay won with a time of 51.09,and Aliso won the boys 4×100 varsity Relay with a time of 44.48. The boys beat Capo’s time by about a second, with their time being 45.42.
Then there was the varsity girls 1600 run where Aliso students Olivia Foody(12) won first place with a time of 5:17.08, Camila Abarca (10) won second with a time of 5:47.94, and Sarina Fusillo (12) placed seventh with a time of 6:10.85. In the varsity boys 1600 run, many Aliso students placed yet again with Josiah Miranda (12) winning first place with a time of 4:36.93. Faris Radieddine (11) got second place with a time of 4:37.79 and Parker McAdam (10) getting third with a time of 4:40.23.
The varsity girls 800 run was impressive with Camila Abaraca (10) finishing first with a 2:43.02 time, Sarina Fusillo (12) finishing in second with a time of 2:50.12 and third place going to Kaylee Carbello (12) with a time of 2:50.54. In the boys varsity 800 run, Faris Radieddine’s (11) 2:16.84 run got first place, Parker McAdam’s (10) 2:18.47 run got second and Josiah Miranda’s (12) 2:18.53 run got third.
Megan Carpenter (12) won in varsity girls 100 Hurdles, getting a time of 18.41 and placed second in the varsity girls 300 Hurdles. Carpenter exclaimed, “it was fun to run against Capo! I’m happy I won the 100 hurdles.”
Landon Wester won varsity boys 300 Hurdles with a time of 46.55.
Esther Page (12) had a time of 1:07.93, placing third in the varsity girls 400 Run. That race was very close with Capo’s second place runner having a time of 1:07.23. Stephen LaRocca (12) finished first in the varsity boys 400 with a time of 53.87, and Sebastian Pineda (11) with a time of 55.92 finished third.
The Aliso girls placed in the varsity girls 100 Dash with Erii Yonemoto (12) finishing first with a time of 12.68, Cambria Kaminski (10) winning second place with a time of 12.97 and Jaslene Massey (10) finishing third with a time of 13.20. The 100 yard dash was a very close race with the time only being off by tenths of seconds. The wolverines completely filled the podium in this race. Again Aliso took first and second place in the varsity boys 100 Dash with Shaun Thompson’s (11) time of 11.23 and Dane Malloy’s (10) time of 11.27.
The varsity girls 200 Dash was won by Erii Yonemoto’s (12) 26.74 run and Colette Bui’s (12) 29.12 run placed third. Mason Gill (11) got a 23.58 run which got him second place and Jaedyn Varnardo (10) got third with a time of 23.58.
Aliso also performed impressively in the field against Capistrano Valley High School. Jaslene Massey (10) got second place and Chloe Coulson (10) got third in the varsity girls long jump. Dane Malloy got first place in the varsity boys long jump with a height of 20 feet and Felipe Guimaraes (11) got third place.
Macey Olson (11) won the varsity girls triple jump, jumping 33 feet and 3 inches. Samantha Murphy (11) came in third place. In varsity boys triple jump, Felipe Guimaraes (11) came in second and Maxwell Chung (12) came in third.
In varsity girls high jump, Cheyenne Embrey (11) jumped a height of 4 feet and 6 inches, winning first place. Macey Olson (11) placed second and Laura Richards (12) came in third. For varsity boys high jump, Felipe Guimaraes (11) got second place and Rylan Edrosolano (12) came in third.
Kayla Borlasa (12) came in third place in varsity girls pole vaulting.
Jaslene Massey (10) threw her shotput 39 feet placing first in varsity girls shot put. Leilah Lucas (12) threw her shot put 28 feet and 3 inches gaining third place.
Lilly Carey got second and Leilah Lucas got third in the varsity girls discus throw. Deacon Soto (10) got first place in varsity boys discus throw, throwing 105 feet and 9 inches, with Cody Brick (12) close behind throwing 105 feet and 3 inches.
