Aliso Niguel High School recently awarded one of its exceptional educator, Ms. Guvengir as the Teacher of the Year. Ms. Guvengir, who specializes in special education, has dedicated the past five years at ANHS to greatly influencing the campus.
Ms. Guvengir’s patience and kindhearted nature help to create a nurturing environment where every student in her classes feels valued and supported on their unique learning journey. Ms. Guvengir’s willingness helps others bring out the best in her students. Ms. Guvengir’s commitment to her job has left an everlasting impact on the school’s community including her past students.
Camden Missaghianardakani (12) states, “I’m proud of her! She’s done so much for the directed kids. Her style of teaching is so hands-on and I had so much fun in her labs back in my sophomore year. Ms. Guvengir deserves the award and so much more.”
Her dedication to her job has displayed her genuine care for each individual and has left an indelible mark on the school community.
Ms. Guvengir states, “Especially at this age group, teaching high schools is mostly about interacting with them. My passion is being a high school teacher, and the best part about teaching high school is having interactions with my students and conversing with them. My motto is not only academically motivated but also about being a role model for them.”
When Ms. Guvengir received the award she was moved and genuinely thankful, expressing gratitude not only for the recognition but also for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of her students.
Ms. Guvengir states, “I couldn’t believe my ears when I was rewarded with teacher of the year. I was expecting teachers who have been teaching for a longer period since they put more effort into teaching at this school. I was kinda thinking I didn’t stand a chance, but when the people came in with a sign in their hands, it was exciting for me, I enjoyed it and I was honored to be chosen as teacher of the year.”
Aliso Niguel High School is proud to have Ms. Guvengir doing the best for its educational community, and her impact on the students’ lives will undoubtedly continue for years to come. ANHS is honored to have such an amazing teacher who is beloved by so many in the community.
