Throughout the month of March, the Laguna Niguel Women’s Club is hosting its annual art contest. The students at Aliso Niguel High School are encouraged to unleash their artistic talent and submit their artwork to the art teacher, Ms. Brown, by March 22.
Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to submit their art pieces for consideration. Whether it is paintings, sculptures or mixed media, the contest accepts all types of mediums which allow for a more diverse contest. The Laguna Niguel Women’s Club Art Contest is accepting submissions from around the area and nearby artists.
Eilly Bidarian (10) states, “I wanted to participate in the Women’s Club competition for my love of art and the opportunity to win.”
The winning artworks will be able to receive recognition and the artist will be awarded. Despite these opportunities, some students taking art at ANHS have some concerns over the deadline as it seems to be very soon.
Veronica Mar (9) states, “I do not think I am going to do the Women’s Club competition. Mainly because I feel like we had a short amount of time to fully complete our projects and had barely any practice in acrylics.”
Students’ concerns are also highlighted by the fact that along with the nearing deadlines, some are occupied with various tasks in their spare time, such as extracurricular activities or part-time jobs. Additionally, some students remain undecided about their participation in the art contest due to uncertainties or lack of confidence in their artistic abilities.
Nevertheless, the art contest serves as a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents and skills, allowing the community to appreciate their creativity and vision. Winning the contest not only brings recognition but also opens further opportunities for artists to establish themselves in the art world. Students can use this competition to not only gain visibility but also to network with art enthusiasts and professionals, helping to create future opportunities in the art world.
This event acts as a tribute to the vibrant art scene in the region which helps to provide a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and connect with the community. The Laguna Niguel Women’s Club will help highlight the artistic prowess of the community and also bring a passion for the arts to the local community.
