Aliso Niguel’s varsity softball player and captain Taylor Nelson (12) represents the softball team’s hard work and success in her achievements throughout her star-strucking commitment and excellence in her commitment to Stanford University.
Taylor proves throughout all of her hard work and dedication that she is more than worthy to have achieved her role as a captain, along with her outstanding scholarship achievement. Taylor uses the skills she has learned within her commitment to create a positive and welcoming environment for those around her and has a wonderful influence on the people around her.
The captain’s love for her sport began at a very young age and has stuck with her since. This rare yet admirable passion for a sport was able to carry Taylor to success. She states, “I started playing softball when I was 7 and it just stuck with me. It became the sport I actually wanted to spend my time and energy on”.
As some others’ admiration and determination for their interest or passions sometimes fade over time, Taylor’s interest never faded. Instead, it made her a more driven individual and carried her to become a team captain later on.
The privilege of going to Stanford is not one Taylor takes for granted. Her commitment and hard work truly paid off, and she is more than appreciative to be given the opportunity at the elite university.
Taylor says “I am super excited and blessed to be going to Stanford. I have worked really hard the past ten years of my life to accomplish playing at a collegiate level, and I’m proud of my academic success as well”.
Taylor is right to be very proud of herself, and she is more than just a terrific athlete to represent such a school. She is an incredibly driven individual who not only helps herself grow but others as well. If anyone deserves this opportunity, it is her.
Taylor talks about her commitment and leadership roles and says, “I am currently captain of my high school softball team and it has shown me the true value of leadership. I am committed to this team and helping my girls grow as athletes. I love being a leader.”
Leadership is not only an exciting role, but it is also a lot of hard work. It requires a high level of communication skills, critical thinking, adaptability, and relationship building. Taylor has achieved these skills and more at a very young age which many are not able to do so early in life or even throughout a lifetime.
Taylor prepares for the years looking forward with a positive mindset and hopes to continue learning as much as she can about her passion. She informs that her “goals for the upcoming years are to learn a lot at Stanford and graduate with a good degree I end up choosing. I hope to play in the 2028 softball Olympics and have a successful softball career at Stanford.”
