Megan Carpenter is a senior in High School and plays many sports. Megan is the team captain for the track team and a great player on and off the field who enjoys what she does.
Megan has been playing sports since she was three years old and the first sport that she played was soccer.
Megan has been running for most of her life but started competitively at 12 years old.
Meghan says, “In middle school, I ran three marathons and eight half marathons. Then I ran cross country freshman year, and have done track for all four years.”
The sports that Megan is currently involved in are the track team. In track, she is a sprinter and a hurdler and competes in the 300m hurdles and the 100m hurdles. She also runs the 200, 400, 800, long jump, and high jump.
As for being a player of many sports, there are many chances to get closer to many people on the team and to make many memories.
Meghan says, “My favorite memory from track and field has been hanging out with all my friends in between events and invitationals.”
Many people look up to Megan, but there are also some people that Megan looks up to and motivates her in many ways which include her teammates and coach.
“I look up to Sydney McLaughlin, she is my favorite track athlete, she is a 400m hurdler and has the world record. She uses her platform to spread positivity and the word of God.”
Another person that she looks up to is her coach Patricia.
“I look up to my coach because she pushes me to be the best I can every day and is always there for me when I need her.”
Megan can count on her coaches and teammates for support and motivation and continue to push her every day.
She also hopes to push her teammates and one tip she would give to people is to keep working hard and it will all pay off.
As Megan’s senior year is coming to an end, plans after high school have been decided, and she is excited for the new chapter of her life.
“I plan on attending Cal State San Marcos and majoring in liberal studies so I can become a teacher.”
Megan is excited for a new chapter in her life and is hoping to end her senior year with positivity and have a great Track and Field season!
