Starbucks is celebrating the Valentine’s season with two new special drinks! Along with the new Oleato drink, Starbucks is also releasing a new frappuccino blend and a cold brew. The frappuccino is called the Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Creme.
Erica Jones, a barista, refers to it as “a take on the beloved Valentine’s Day dessert, with swirls of happiness and rich java chips, this blended beverage will delight customers who enjoy cold beverages in the wintertime.”
For the other drink, the Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew, the drink consists of hazelnut syrup mixed with chocolate cold foam and cookie crumble sprinkles.
Hannah Marie, another barista, notes from the Starbucks website that it is “a new cold drink to adore, made with Starbucks Cold Brew, sweetened with hazelnut syrup and topped with silky chocolate cream cold foam and chocolate cookie crumble topping.”
Customers who love Starbucks adore these new drinks and are excited to enjoy them during the Valentine’s season. The drinks have a smooth consistency that customers describe as “delightful.”
These drinks have been around and can be customarily ordered when they are taken off the menu, as all of the ingredients needed to make these drinks are always available. So if you are sad that these drinks might go away soon, do not worry!
As for the other drink, the Oleato beverage, there have been many contradicting statements made about this drink. Some love it, some hate it. Although, it has been proven that this drink is very good for you.
The Oleato drinks are either blended, steamed or shaken with olive oil. Many customers have described it to be liked by a very “acquired taste.”
Following its debut in Italy in February 2023, Oleato beverages are now available at all U.S. Starbucks company-operated and licensed stores, such as those in grocery stores, airports and college campuses. Starbucks Reserve locations in the U.S. also serve a unique lineup of Oleato beverages and offer an exclusive tasting experience. Oleato is also available in locations around the world, including Canada, London, Paris, Osaka and Tokyo.
Oleato began in Sicily when Starbucks founder Howard Schultz was introduced to the daily Mediterranean custom of having a spoonful of olive oil. As he sipped his morning coffee, he was inspired to try the two together. There he unlocked the unexpected: coffee enhanced with lush, velvety flavor that lingers beautifully on the palate.
The top three most popular Oleato drinks include the shaken beverage with Toffee Nut syrup, the steamed latte and the Pineapple Refresher topped with Oleato golden foam. Many describe these drinks as having an almost “popcorn-like” taste.
The drink is more successful than many thought, and Baristas are very excited to introduce their community to the combination of flavors. This goes for the Valentine’s drinks as well.
