Aliso Niguel High School’s 2024 Winter Formal is right around the corner on Feb. 10! This news means that many lucky students are getting asked to this dance with creative hand-crafted posters.
Dance proposals in the form of a poster are one of the many ways students at Aliso Niguel High can express their love and feelings for one another, and one of these students who has been asked is a senior named TaeEun Jun.
Tae got asked to Winter Formal by Sonya Tarnovsky (12), and he says that the poster made for him was very “cute and creative” and also “made with a sprinkle of chemistry jokes.” They are both very excited to attend the 2024 Winter Formal!
Platonic friendships have also committed to making their friends posters, such as Melody Le (12) who made Mia Perez (12) a Bruno Mars-themed Winter Formal poster! The poster was beautifully designed and much effort was put into the creation.
Making a poster for another takes a lot of effort and time management, and with enough time on their hands, some students have even made theirs overnight. Others may take days or weeks to finish. It depends on how well one can manage their time.
Other types of posters have included song lyrics, funny quotes, gifts alongside the poster and catchy puns. Students enjoy giving their partners or friends these posters at school or outside of school depending on how public they would like it to be. Students most of the time will look up ideas for posters on Pinterest or TikTok.
Posters are a very fun thing to make and decorate, and also a very fun way to express one’s love for another! The trend of making posters as a way to propose for one has been around for years, and hopefully never ends.
