Weekly, students and staff have the opportunity to nominate other students and staff for the title “Weekly Wolverine.” This title allows peers to appreciate the hard work and dedication of the students and staff around campus.
This new system for recognizing greatness throughout Aliso Niguel was a hit during first semester, and it looks like the Wolverine Spotlight system will continue to flourish throughout the rest of the 2023-2024 school year.
On Jan. 8, Mrs. Zargar got nominated for a Wolverine Spotlight and became the “Weekly Wolverine.”
Mrs. Zargar is a para educator here at Aliso Niguel High School. Being a para educator entails being able to assist other teachers in their classrooms. Mrs. Zargar assists teachers who teach math, specifically Algebra I and Geometry. In the classroom, Mrs. Zargar is known to be extremely helpful, kind, and supportive.
When told about her nomination and recognition, Mrs. Zargar says, “I am honored and it is a great surprise. I am very proud of myself and this recognition means that I’m doing my job. It is great news!”
Along with Mrs. Zargar, many other students have been posted and acknowledged on the Wolverine Spotlight Instagram page. Students like Gigi Ganje (12) and Taylor Nelson (12) have been recognized on the page since the start of the new semester.
ASB is very proud that the Instagram page is such a success. It has accomplished ASB’s overall goal for the school year by highlighting Wolverines who follow the ideals of Aliso Niguel. With a head start from ASB, it is important to recognize students and staff who show their integrity, excellence and character day to day while on our campus.
ASB teacher Ms. Ross speaks on behalf of Wolverine Spotlight: “The Wolverine Spotlight Instagram page and idea was completely student run. Katherine Verando (11), Aiden Kang (11) and Lorenzo Gon (11) started the Wolverine Spotlight and I am proud of their success.”
If you notice any students or staff members being exceptional while demonstrating the ideals of Aliso Niguel, then you can easily nominate them for a Wolverine Spotlight. To do this, you can either scan the QR codes around campus and submit the form or click the link in the bio of the Wolverine Spotlight Instagram page: @wolverine.spotlight.
