The California Scholarship Federation at Aliso Niguel High School held a fundraiser at Chipotle from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.
As per CSF’s new point system, attendance at the fundraiser earned 10 points that will go towards the 30 needed to fulfill the semester’s requirement. The CSF team shared that members had to show the cashier a digital or paper flyer before paying, pay online and use a promo code, or mention the fundraiser to the cashier before paying so their order would count towards the fundraiser. They also warned that delivery orders do not count for points or go towards the fundraiser.
Those who did attend the event were encouraged to fill out a google form submitting both the receipt from the order and a fundraiser flyer to prove the order counted towards their goal.
33 percent of event sales got donated to the CSF club and they needed a minimum of $150 from event sales in order to receive any donation.
President of CSF, Shine Lee (12), shared that “Our plans for the money raised from this fundraiser is to give back to our members! Possibly in the form of memorabilia for the graduating seniors, and definitely for the member of the semester prizes…”
Lee further commented that “one of our treasurers, Eunnie Wu (12), was actually the one responsible for planning all of this, so this is a huge shout out to her. She was the one who reached out to local businesses and organized this fundraiser with Chipotle.”
The CSF Instagram account posted a picture during the time of the fundraiser with a prompt to use the designated code; all in front of a picture of a large to-go bag full of food–not only urging members and their families to participate, but showing off the delicious reward for supporting the club.
Lee concluded by noting that CSF is discussing holding another fundraiser to collect money for a charity.
Executive member of CSF, Sanvi Shah (11), shared that “the money raised is really helpful for getting goodies for members (ej. Member of the Semester) and is put into a fund which will also contribute to celebrating seniors. We really appreciate everyone who was able to make it!”
Chipotle is a great restaurant to hold club-related events since it is located close to the school and is a popular place for teens and their families alike. To date, Chipotle has hosted roughly 342,000 fundraisers for various causes around the nation and have raised around $95 million.
Last year, CSF introduced its new point system where various events count for points such as attending meetings, volunteer hours, attending college events and fundraisers. This fundraiser was the first event directly related to CSF that was held outside of school and counted for points.
CSF held their first fundraiser of the school year for 10 club points and encouraged members and their families to support the club so the funds can go towards semester prizes and celebrating seniors.
