At the beginning of May, Aliso Viejo is welcoming a brand new Starbucks drive-thru! The store will be replacing the one off Alicia & Pacific Park, near Rubios and Board & Brew, which is a usual Starbucks for students to visit before and after school because of how close the store is to the school.
This adjustment will be an exciting addition to Aliso Viejo since there is a limited supply of Starbucks drive-thrus in the area. While this is exciting for customers, it is also a big change for the baristas working as well.
Ray Murie, a barista who previously worked at a drive-thru, says “It is a big change moving from working in just a small sit-down store to a chaotic drive-thru. Drive thru’s are more hard work and business, additionally with the cafe orders as well. Despite the chaos though, drive-thru’s can be fun and it is always a joy to serve customers.”
Drive-thrus have increased in efficiency over the past few years greatly, and it is proven that your food will be served quicker when handed out at the drive-thru. This is a great thing for customers ordering at Starbucks who are heading to school afterward, as you know when your drinks and/or food will be served and it will most likely come out quicker as well.
Kate Harma, a barista currently working at the cafe which will be turning into a drive-thru shortly says that she is “very excited to see what this new drive-thru will look like for our employees and customers, and just our store overall.”
