Christmas is around the corner and so are Christmas decorations. Clubs like Student Atlas and teachers like Mrs. Wright are getting festive this season with a festive wolverine, festive cats and a Christmas tree in the classroom.
Along Wolverine Way is a giant, painted wolverine with a santa hat. Student Atlas took the time to paint the wolverine by hand and stick it up on the wall of Aliso Announcements.
The club’s Vice President Caleb Ulrich (12) says, “it took us a lot of planning and even more time to finish it. We had to start right after school and we were there until like five or six.”
Club President Enrique Gonzalez (12) says, “we would like to thank our members that stayed after school for the project, we’re glad we can add some festive cheer to our school despite finals coming up.”
Festive cats with Santa hats are also posted all around Aliso Announcements.
Ulrich says, “The wall always looked bare and there aren’t many decorations around the school, so we thought we might as well add Santa cats.”
Many students love the decor and the contributions Student Atlas made to make the school more cheery and welcoming.
Stephen LaRocca (12) says, “I don’t really notice many decorations around the school, so seeing all of this is really nice and refreshing, nice to see people still making an effort to be festive.”
AP Art History teacher Mrs. Wright is also making efforts to be festive this year along with the help of her students. A lit up, decorated Christmas tree with ornaments sitting on the side of her classroom. With Student Atlas contributing, the Christmas tree definitely gives the holiday cheer that students need.
Ulrich says, “we always decorate Mrs. Wrights room for every holiday, so what better way to do it for Christmas with a Christmas tree. It was really fun decorating it with all the other members with Christmas music playing in the background.”
Enrique says, “honestly, I never expected myself to buy a tree and decorate it for this school year, but here we are.”
